Certified Organic Latex

Instead of polyurethane foams, Avocado mattresses feature GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex (CU 863637) rubber foam from sustainably harvested from our facilities in India and Guatemala. Our new Box-Top plush model adds two layers of FSC-certified Talalay latex.

Our GOTS-certified organic wool (CU 863637) does what other materials cannot — it wicks away moisture, stays fresh, and acts as a natural fire barrier. It’s also anti-microbial, resistant to dust mites, and offers natural temperature control to help you sleep cool.

Our luxurious, button-tufted mattress covers are made with breathable GOTS-certified organic cotton (CU 863637) — one of the softest and most comfortable fabrics. Organic cotton is cool, wicks away moisture, and, better still, is more sustainable than conventional cotton.

Needle Tufted by Hand

Avocado mattresses feature our distinctive, needle-tufted rosettes made from soft, white organic wool — a hallmark of quality. We pull cotton ribbons through every layer of the mattress in up to 24 locations, held in place by the rosettes. Needle-tufting is a time-honored technique dating back to the 17th century. Because of hand tufting, no chemical adhesives are used to bind the layers together, which also radically improves durability.

The secret to our superior ergonomic support and durability is our best-in-class innerspring unit, a patent-pending design we make ourselves. It features up to 1,459 steel coils, individually encased in fabric pockets and arranged in multiple gauges and seven distinct zones. With coils that float independently, it boasts a reinforced steel perimeter for superior edge support. This system reduces motion transfer, keeps your back aligned, relieves back pain, distributes weight more evenly, alleviates pressure points, and lovingly contours your body’s natural curves.

Heavy-Duty Handles

Four upholstered handles adorn the mattress, neatly sewn for a tight fit. Our reinforced handles won’t bunch out underneath the sheets. Rotating or adjusting your mattress is hassle-free. But you never need to flip it!

Naturally Cool

Organic materials like wool and latex promote air circulation and moisture wicking without retaining heat, while pocketed coils ensure effective airflow. Heat is never trapped, as is common with memory foam — and no "cooling chemicals" are used. The result is a cool night's sleep like Mother Nature intended.

No Fire Retardants

We do not use chemical flame retardants, synthetic fire socks, or fiberglass. Instead, we use GOTS-certified organic wool with inherent fire resistance sourced from our herding collective, which boasts 200,000+ sheep, 400+ shepherds, and 40,000+ hectares of organic pastures across the foothills of the Himalayas. We are proud that our wool achieves the Responsible Wool Standard.

Ergonomic Support with 7 Zones

The Avocado Green Mattress features one of the most advanced, internal, pressure-point support units available anywhere, at any price. The Green Mattress has between 833 (Twin) and 1,459 (King) individually wrapped coils — arranged in seven strategic zones to support hips, back, and shoulders, plus a reinforced steel perimeter, giving the bed a consistent level of support to the edge. Encased in a food-grade polypropylene fabric (non-woven and non-toxic), these premium springs float independently to further improve airflow, support and spinal alignment. There are 3 wire gauges used: 16 gauge (narrow diameter) perimeter coils in the reinforced sides and the header/footer zones; 15 gauge coils through the center one-third section; and 14 gauge (larger diameter) coils on both sides of the center section (the same in the shoulder and hip areas, since our mattress is designed to be rotated regularly). Made from heat-treated and stress-relieved wire, these up-cycled steel coils enable our mattress to deliver firm edge support for the life of the mattress and benefit those in critical need of back pain and pressure-point relief.

25-Year Limited Warranty

Years 1 - 10: Full coverage, Non-Prorated. Years 11 - 25: Limited Coverage, Prorated. All foundations, bunkie boards, bed frames, and adjustable bases sold by Avocado have been specifically designed to meet the structural support requirements of this warranty if used correctly and unaltered. Foundations, bunkie boards, bed frames, and adjustable bases purchased from third-party vendors (not purchased from Avocado) must meet the minimum structural requirements outlined in our warranty.
